photo...

so we would love to have you come visit! the new place has
more than one bedroom...which means that now, no one would
have to sleep on the couch (unless they wanted to, of course)

    1. hahaha -- yeah, it's all about context, right? last night we were looking at Ivan's newborn pictures and couldn't get over how little he looked...and yet, I remember thinking (at the time) what a big, big baby I had!!

we wish you could come visit too. or maybe that we could visit you. whichever, I'd be happy. if we start talking about it now, maybe it'll eventually happen?

  2. Wow! Silly me for not checking your blog recently! What a blur of change, I so look forward to hearing more about it! And man, I love watching little ones grow up.

I totally get Naomi's comment about Ivan's size... I always felt like my babies were getting so huge, then Elliott would hold them and it was like they instantly shrank before my eye. One of the many wonders of husbands who tower over 6' tall. :)

    1. no, you're not silly for not checking. i haven't been posting in a while, so it was Practical of you! and YES to the blur of change. last minute hires DO happen right before school starts (it happened to us last year, if you remember), but it's not the norm, and we had been focusing so much on being thankful for what we had that this one caught us by surprise.

another wonder of having a husband who is over 6' is that I (not even 5'!) could have such a big baby. craziness.

    1. aunt teri! brett took a job with ksu in kent, ohio (south of cleveland, and two hours closer to the jacksons!). the architecture program here is a solid one, so both a good stepping stone to another place and also (if it works out)a good place to stay. he is teaching 1st and 2nd year design as well as a structures class...but he would have to fill you in on more of the details! what I CAN say is that he has had a week of classes and is loving it.
